Thatching
Professional thatching solutions, roof installations, repairs, maintenance and restoration.
Care for your property, from the start
A thatched roof gives a property its character. Mthunzi Thatching helps with new installations, repairs and the ongoing care of existing roofs, with the work planned around the condition of your roof and your property.
New installations start with a discussion of the roof design, the property and the finish you want. The scope and suitable materials are agreed before work begins.
For existing roofs, repairs and re-thatching address worn areas and deterioration. Maintenance and treatment requirements depend on the roof's condition; an assessment helps establish what is appropriate.

Your questions
Frequently asked questions
Can my roof be repaired rather than replaced?
It depends on the extent of the wear and the condition of the roof. Share photographs and the problem you have noticed so we can discuss an assessment and the appropriate scope.
How often should a thatched roof be maintained?
There is no single schedule for every roof. Age, exposure and previous maintenance all matter. Ask us about the condition of your roof and any signs of leaks or deterioration.
What information helps with a thatching quote?
Tell us the property location, approximate roof size, whether it is new work or a repair, and any visible problems. Photographs are useful, but an assessment may still be needed.
